A Dental AI Sales Agent That Qualifies Leads and Books Appointments Over SMS
A dental clinic AI sales agent that qualifies leads and books appointments over SMS for under $10 a month.
The Strategy
Hamza Baig runs a seven figure AI automation agency and is a top 50 GoHighLevel affiliate out of 60,000 agencies. In this walkthrough, he builds a dental clinic AI sales agent from scratch that handles lead qualification and appointment booking entirely over SMS. The problem he solves is speed to lead. When someone fills out a Facebook ad form or a website inquiry, most sales reps take hours to follow up. By then the lead has gone cold. This system responds within seconds and keeps following up for weeks until the lead engages. The agent runs two automations inside GoHighLevel. The first is an SMS drip sequence triggered by a form submission that sends messages until the lead responds. Once they reply, the second automation takes over: a ChatGPT powered bot that asks qualification questions, rejects unqualified leads into a nurture sequence, and sends a booking link to qualified ones. The entire system costs less than $10 a month to operate. What stands out is the simplicity. There is no middleware, no complex integrations, and no code. Everything runs inside a single platform with a built in OpenAI connection. Hamza demonstrates the full build live and tests it with his own phone to show the conversation flow in real time.
How It Works
Create a patient registration form in GoHighLevel that collects name, phone number, and basic information from the Facebook ad or website.
Build the first workflow triggered by form submission. It sends an initial SMS and follows up every 24 hours with additional messages.
Enable stop on response in the workflow settings so the drip sequence ends as soon as the lead replies to any message.
Add an autopilot tag to contacts entering this workflow. This tag tells the AI chatbot which leads it is allowed to engage with.
Build the second workflow triggered by customer replied with a filter that only activates for contacts tagged autopilot.
Add a ChatGPT action using GoHighLevel's built in OpenAI integration. Paste in a system prompt that defines the bot as a customer service assistant, lists three qualification criteria, and instructs it to send a booking link when all criteria are met.
Enable conversation history in the ChatGPT action so the bot remembers previous questions and does not repeat itself.
Add a short wait step after the ChatGPT response for a more natural reply cadence, then send the GPT output back to the lead as an SMS.
When the lead meets all qualification criteria, the bot automatically sends the calendar booking link. Unqualified leads get routed to a nurture sequence.
Results
No verified production metrics were shared. Hamza projects $500 to $1,000 per month in revenue per client for selling this system, with less than $10 per month in operating costs. He cites a 97% SMS open rate as the reason for choosing SMS over email or phone. The system was built and demonstrated working end to end in under 10 minutes.
Our Take
We like this as a starter template for anyone selling AI automation to local businesses. The entire system lives inside one platform with zero middleware, which makes it dead simple to deploy and maintain. The limitation is that this is a basic implementation with no knowledge base integration or direct in-conversation booking. Best suited for beginners who want to get their first AI agent sold to a dental or similar local service business quickly. The economics work if you can land the client.
